Your sales funnel might just working nearly as well as you’d like it to.

Hera are are proven techniques you can use to increase any sales funnel’s pulling power, from the ads you place, to your squeeze page, your blog, your sales letters and your backend. Here are 17 techniques that can work for you:

1. Ask for action. Whether it’s an Adwords ad, solo ad or a banner, a squeeze page, a sales page, even a blog post – ask your reader to take the next steps and do what you want them to do. Keep it simple and make it easy to take that action, too.

2. Always offer free information, such as blog posts, articles, reports, podcasts, videos etc. to establish yourself as an authority who can be trusted, as well as someone they just plain like.

3. Describe your lead generating free report in a way that makes it every bit as enticing as a $100 paid product.

4. Show a picture of your report or product, and don’t skimp on this. Get a good graphics designer to create a cover that looks like it belongs on the best seller list.

5. Spend a lot of time choosing just the right title. Whether it’s a blog post, a free report or a product, give it a name or title that creates curiosity or implies a big benefit. If you can do both, you get major bonus points.

6. Include your address on your squeeze page and your sales page. Make it super easy to find on your blog. A real address (preferably with a real phone number) tells people they can trust you.

7. Use your head shot photo everyplace you can. Unless you look like an ogre (and trust me, you don’t) it’s better to have your face seen throughout your sales funnel. This makes you a real person to the prospect, not just some faceless person trying to take their money. Spend time taking on choosing just the right photo, and even use social media to help you pick the one that makes you look like the likeable, trustworthy person you are.

8. When offering discounts, use a dollar amount, not a percentage. For example, $10 off converts better than 10% off.

9. You know those dashed lines they put around coupons? Thanks to conditioning, those lines also work online for getting attention and making sales. Try using them on your order page.

10. Give the order page “coupon” a headline that affirms positive action -”Yes, I want to lose 30 pounds in the next 60 days.”

11. Give the customer 2 or 3 choices – perhaps a starter option, a full option and a deluxe option. Price the deluxe at slightly more than the full and you’ll very likely increase sales dramatically.

12. Try placing a less-heavy dashed line around your banner ads as well to stimulate response.

13. Use a direct headline-one that promises a benefit or stresses the offer of free information while invoking curiosity. Test your headlines. Test test test. Then test some more. If this seems tedious, get your VA to do it.

14. If you don’t have a VA, consider getting one. S/he can be doing the little stuff while you focus on improving your funnel.

15. Giving away a free book or consultation? Or is your price crazy low? Put it in the headline.

16. Offer a bonus unlike any other. For example, everyone offers a free ebook, recording, video, etc. Instead, offer something tangible like a real book. Have it shipped via Amazon. Obviously this bonus will only be offered on higher priced products.

17. Offer a free sample. Yes, this is old school, but it works. Offer a free 30 minute consultation, or a free chapter, or the first 3 videos of your 15 video series. If you deliver what you promise and make them want more, you’ll get sales.

One last thing: If you’re already doing all of the above and your sales are still lower than you like, you’ll want to take a look at the big picture. Is your offer a good one? Is the product something people are willing and even eager to pay for? All the marketing in the world won’t do much to help a lousy offer. For example, it’s going to be extremely difficult to sell a 1970 Pinto for a million dollars, but you can sell 2014 cars for $10,000 all day long. If the problem turns out to be the offer, the question to ask is whether you’re charging too much or is it simply something people don’t want? And then take the appropriate action.

Above all else, don’t give up, because the only people who truly fail are the ones who throw in the towel at the first sign of trouble.

Rules For Being an Online Marketer

This list is by no means exhaustive – it’s really more the result of a brain storming session with Online Marketer’s to figure out why some succeed online
….while others haven’t succeeded. Yet. 🙂

1. You gotta sell something. I’ve known people who were “in business” for months, yet hadn’t sold a thing. Until you start selling somebody’s product (yours or someone else’s, doesn’t matter) you don’t have a business.

2. Get into profit as fast as possible. If you’re buying traffic, figure out how to make that traffic pay as soon as humanly possible. If you’re outsourcing work, find a way to make that work more than pay for itself. Sure it’s common sense, but I’ve seen a few folks go into serious debt.

3. Make smart investments that pay off. Hiring a coach that shows you what you need to know is smart – throwing a few thousand at Adsense is dumb. Investments are sometimes the fastest way to get your business on the fast track, but you’ve got to be smart about them.

4. Turn lookers into buyers as fast as possible. If this means selling them a $5 ebook, do it.

5. Upsell. Once they buy the $5 ebook, realize they have greater needs that ebook won’t fill, so find a way to fill those needs and wants and charge more for it.

6. Make it brain dead easy for your customers to sign up. The harder it is, the fewer customers you will have.

7. Competition in your niche is generally great. No competition means you’re in the wrong niche.

8. Get to know your competitors personally. Send them email, talk to them on Skype. You’ll be surprised how often competitors can be turned into allies – and the first step is to say hello.

9. Make a new connection every day. This might be your competitors, but it could also be people in similar niches, different niches, affiliates, product owners, etc. Make a list of people you want to get to know and then start contacting them with no agenda except seeing if you can help them in some way.

10. Build a customer list, then create products for them. Building the product first means you’ve got no one to sell it to and puts you at the mercy of affiliates. Building the list first and getting that list toasty warm to your offer means you’ve got sales of your new product (when it launches) from day one and stats to show potential affiliates that totally rock.

11. Your customers are not marks or suckers or even fools. And they’re not strangers, either. They’re your mother, your brother, your best friend and your next door neighbor. Think of them that way and you cannot go wrong.

12. Watch the hype. A little hype in the form of excitement and enthusiasm is okay if you can back it with evidence. Too much hype and no one will believe you, even if what you say is true.

13. Use the element of surprise. When you deliver your product, add something surprising for the customer. When you’re paying your star affiliates, send them a bonus surprise – even if it’s just a small Amazon certificate. Always do a little bit more than expected.

14. Treat your active affiliates and JV partners like gold, because that’s what they are.

15. It’s okay to screw up. And fail. And feel stupid. And look like a complete dork on social media. Just learn from your mistake, apologize and keep moving forward. The only people who don’t fail are those who don’t do a thing, and you don’t want to be one of those.

16. Make a list of the 3 things you MUST get done today. Then do them.

17. Do the toughest thing first thing in the morning. Whatever it is – running 5 miles or making that phone call you dread – get it done first. Then the rest of the day is easier by comparison.

18. It’s not always fun. Sorry about that, but it’s true – having your own online business means sometimes you have to do things you don’t like. The trick is to suck it up and do it – or find someone to outsource it to. It’s like a journey – to get to your destination sometimes you have to drive through neighborhoods or even whole stretches of road that aren’t fun – do it anyway.

19. Lose the negativity. Whether it’s someone else tearing you or your business down – or your own little monkey mind telling you why you can’t do it – get rid of the negative talk.

20. Automate as much as you humanly can in your business. The more you automatic and delegate, the more time you have to work on your business rather than in your business.

21. There are not 16 hours in a workday. Beyond 8 hours at a computer, your productivity begins to drop dramatically. After 10 hours you’re making mistakes. After 12 hours you have trouble remembering stuff you know well, and after 14 hours you’re pretty much worthless. Rest and sleep are as important to your business as the work itself.

22. You are not a potato, so get off your rear and get some exercise everyday or your work will suffer.

23. You know that law of attraction stuff? Surprise, it works. And it’s not complicated – you don’t need dozens of books and courses to learn it – one good one will do. But you’ve got to actively work the law everyday to make it work in your favor.

24. Cook ideas in your brain. The first thing is to ask the right question of your subconscious, the second is to continue asking until you get the answer. I’ve come up with some of my best product ideas by letting things simmer on the back burner of my mind until the answer popped out at the most unexpected of times.

25. Ideas by themselves are worthless. Anyone can get a great idea, but it’s the person who acts on the idea who makes the fortune.

26. Don’t fall so in love with your idea that you’re not open to suggestions. That said, know when to listen to the suggestions and when to simply say thank you and continue on.

27. Screw the economy. Good times and bad times there is money to be made, so stop watching the financial news and go get busy.

28. Treat your business like a business, not a hobby. Make a work schedule and stick to it. Create goals and timetables and stick to them. Do what you say you will when you say you will. This isn’t pretend, it’s real and your financial future depends on it.

29. Celebrate your successes – even the tiny ones.

30. If you get bored, sell your business and start a new one. It’s nearly always easier to start a business the second time around.

Ways to Make a Million Dollars On The Internet

JUST LAUNCHED:

Do you think a million dollars is out of reach? Think again. Short of investing – which takes capital – or working on commission in high ticket sales, there is likely no better place to become a millionaire than via the Internet.

To put a million dollars into perspective, you will need to earn $2739 per day for 365 days if you’re going to accomplish the task in one year. If you’re  patient, you need only make $548 per day for 5 years, or $274 per day for 10 years. You see? Making a million dollars is completely doable.

Here then are 9 ways to get you thinking in the right direction. Recommendation: Choose one and focus on that until it’s earning you a good income, then add a second and even a third stream into the mix.

Leveraging.

Find something that works and then multiply your efforts. For example, create a great product line with a dynamite affiliate program, and then focus on recruiting the best affiliates to sell for you. You’ll be leveraging their efforts for your gain.

I forget who said it’s better to have 1% of the efforts of 100 people than 100% of the efforts of one – but imagine if you get 10% of the efforts of 100 people. You might need to recruit a 1,000 affiliates or more to find these 100, but it will be well worth it. There are product creators right now on Clickbank who have earned far in excess of a million dollars simply by using this method.

Scaling.

When you create a product that is a hot seller, don’t stop. Create similar products at larger price points that you can sell to your same customers. Then create related product lines as well, to sell to existing customers as well as to attract new customers to your product lines. You goal is to add to your product line both vertically and horizontally, attracting a much larger share of your market and making you the market leader.

Coaching.

Start with a few clients to figure out what you’re doing. Then scale this up and leverage it with affiliates. You can sell one-on-one coaching, coaching memberships, group coaching and coaching events. Imagine putting on a coaching event in a different city every two weeks, selling seats for $997. You’d only need to sell 39 seats in each city to earn that million dollars.

Not possible you say? Tell that to Tony Robbins – he probably earns close to a million dollars for every event he does, and that’s after expenses. In case you’re curious, his net worth is estimated to be $480 million. Not bad for someone who simply coaches via stage and audio products. Think about it – if he can earn a million dollars 480 times, you can certainly do it once.

Continuity.

If you could sell a product once for $27, or you could sell access for $10 a month, what would you do? Here’s a hint: What do Netflix, cable companies, cell phone companies, utility companies, hosting companies, etc. all have in common? Continuity – the ability to bill month in and month out. Find something that people are willing to pay for monthly, then scale it up and use leverage, and you’ve got a proven wealth formula. So what’s the best place to start looking for the right product? Software or some kind of online automated service. You can give away free trials and then begin charging.

Consult.

If you’re really good at business or marketing, consider consulting with existing business for a share of the profits. For example, you work with a publisher to increase sales of their products, and in exchange you get 50% of the increased revenue. This is found revenue they would not have received if not for you, so it’s a win-win and a great way to make serious money. Start with small businesses, earn your successes and work up to the million dollar deals.

JV Broker.

There are tons of businesses outside of the IM field who don’t know much of anything about doing joint ventures. You can set up deals between these businesses and product owners to promote the products to the business’ existing customer list for a share of the profits.

For example, an online fitness equipment seller has a list of 100,000 customers and prospects. You broker a deal between them and a fitness info product, taking a percentage of the profits. You write the series of emails, set it all up, and take your cut. Then you do it again and again. One deal could make you anything from several hundred dollars to six figures, depending on the size and responsiveness of the list, how well matched the product is to the desires of the list and other factors.

Be cheap.

If you can somehow offer an extremely popular and in demand product at a lower price while still making a profit, you could earn far more than a million dollars. Swanson Vitamins offers nearly every herb and vitamin imaginable, and every price is almost always lower than stores and mail order competitors.

Netflix offers unlimited streaming for just $8 a month – about the price you used to pay for 2 movie rentals – and you had to drive to pick those up and return them. Hosting is another great example – it used to cost far more to host a website until one company decided to start charging $10 a month, and later reduced that price even lower. You won’t find this type of opportunity available everyday, but if you keep your eyes peeled and you’re not afraid to take massive action, you could be the next Netflix.

Be an authority.

Or better yet, get famous. When you’ve got a name people recognize, they want to do business with you. In fact, if you’re famous or enough of an authority, you can command top dollar for your products and services. Just look at a handbag in a discount store versus a handbag with the famous Gucci name on it. The difference in price is downright ridiculous, especially when you realize there probably isn’t much difference in quality.

Could Tony Robbins command so much money or fill entire auditoriums with $1,000 attendees if he weren’t famous? Probably not. So how did he get so famous? Infomercials. That’s right – he bought his way to fame and made money the whole way. Put out press releases, do outrageous things, become known as the mover and shaker in your industry and you can be famous, too.

Be Oprah.

Not actually Oprah, of course, but look at how she got rich – she hosted a talk show and made her guests look good. Today thanks to the Internet, anyone can host their own show. You can do video or podcast or both. You can interview anyone on any topic, so long as you can get them to say yes. And you can become famous and rich doing it.

How? Choose a niche and make your show THE authority on that niche. Then promote the products of  the people you interview. Here’s a 15 minute video from Vishen Lakhiani explaining how he made $930,000 in 18 months using this method.

Now that I’ve shared these methods with you, take a few minutes to read them again. Which one resonates with you? Which one gets you excited and motivated? Which one can you see yourself doing?

Notice something – you are no longer thinking about “whether” you can make a million dollars. Instead, you are now thinking about “how” you WILL make a million dollars. Big difference, huh?

The very first step to making money is believing you can do it. The second step is choosing a plan of action. And the third step? TAKING action.

Online Marketing Passion?

For as long as internet marketing has existed, gurus have been ranting about the need of Online Marketing Passion to fuel your online business. Easier said than done because everyone should have a different kind of passion and every one’s passion is unique. It is not as simple as to just tell yourself that Internet Marketing is your passion because it just does not work that way.

Benefits of marketing with passion.

When you are passionate about what you do especially when in marketing, you can see yourself working relentlessly on your business. All the hard work and tedious hours seem to fly by without a hint of burning you out. In fact, when you are passionate about something, you will find that you are actually enjoying your time.

In many ways, it is as if you are in love and love is blind When you are passionate about Internet marketing, you will be thinking new ways to market your products, your creative juice will flow without any hindrance. You do not even need to be inspired to get creative. The power of passion is indeed a great asset for those who are in working passionately.

With a powerful passion backing you up, working long hours to complete your project will be seemingly easy, and it is absolutely hard to be distracted. Plus, you will find that you can focus on your work a lot easier than those who are only in it for money. Every single time you churn out contents for your niche, or when you write a normal email message to your subscribers, you will be able to write in a way that you show expertise and love of what you are doing. This is a beautiful thing that can help people love you more and thus increase your sales volume.

Interest vs. Passion

However, passion should not be confused with interest. One can be usually interested in a lot of things. For example, a typical female would be interested in cosmetics and make ups or weight loss, but they are not necessarily passionate about them. Interest does not mean you are passionate but with passion, you can be sure that there is interest.

A passion can be simplified and defined with something that you can work with day and night, following your thoughts anywhere you go and you’ll never get tired with it. In fact, the more you do it, you’ll find yourself getting more and more deeply involved and it is very hard to stop doing it. Plus, if you find yourself away from your passion for just a day or so, you will feel like something is missing.

While a mere interest might not be strong enough to get your engines going without tiring you and sometimes your interest can die out and you will lose interest in what has been interesting to you before.

Is it necessary?

Is passion absolutely necessary to make money online? The quick answer is no. In fact, many people make money online (many thus failed as well) without any passion in their niche or so. However, know this, being passionate in what you do will definitely help, and it helps a lot in the sense. You will find that the majority of the most successful people in this business are actually fueled by a passion for their business.

What this is indicating is that it is much easier to succeed if you are passionate at what you do but there have been cases the other way around. However, those that are not passionate in their business but succeeded would most likely be ‘interested’ in their business.

The important thing that one should know is that if you are neither interested in Internet marketing nor passionate about it, and you only want to earn quick money, then it is best for you to rethink your strategies, and you might want to move into another field. Otherwise, you have to at the very least find the ‘interest’ in you to move your business forward. Some marketers in this category are actually fueled by their passion for money and the freedom of an Internet marketer. Some would try to associate their mind to believe that they love what they do (sometimes it works and sometimes it won’t).

If you wish to be in business for long-term and not only for the cash, then be sure to find out what your interest and strengths are.

How to find your passion, interest or your strength?

The best way to do this is to find out which business model that you would be interested in (one that does not conflict with your believe and ethics) and move on from there. When you have been doing the business model for some time, you should have had some time to explore generally what is involved. Find out what your strengths are and work on that area. You might or might not find your passion there.

Another way is to actually work in a niche that you are passionate with. Unfortunately not every niche out there is profitable or in high demand. Hence, if you are lucky to be passionate in a niche that has a huge market then be sure not to lose this chance to grow your passion and your business as fast as you can. If you have a passion in a lesser niche, your only chance is to try to seek out others that require your help and people who have the same passion as you do. Try to charge a higher fee for your product and fees in order to earn enough for a living.

Make use of the power of Online Marketing Passion and watch your life and business change naturally to the better with little effort. If success is about leverage then being passionate about what you do is that leverage that will propel you towards your goals like a bullet train.

Natural Laws To Aid Your Online Business.

There are countless Natural Laws of the universe. If you have been paying attention to the self-help section in a book store, you might have probably heard of ‘The Secret’ which is mainly based on the law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is just one of the many natural laws that govern the universe. So how then can a normal online Entrepreneur take advantage of these laws and use them to help your business grow.

We shall explore deeper into some of these Natural Laws and we begin with…

The Law of Attraction.

The Natural Law of Attraction is a law that helps you attract the things which you want in live by focusing your thoughts on what you want. Many believes that the Law of Attraction is some kind of magical power but in fact, when you focus your thoughts on what you really wanted in life, you turn your attention into getting things done.

You become a lot more positive because you will shut down all the negative thoughts you have on getting what you’ve always wanted. Hence, when you apply the law of attraction into your business, you get a lot more focused, and you will start taking actions with a positive attitude towards your business. Things happen when you take actions, and the positive and constant thoughts attract what you want for your online business.

The Law of attraction is said to be a scientifically proven law where your thoughts vibrate and lets out a signal to the universe, and it operates based on quantum physics. Let’s put all the technical terms aside because many Internet marketers who succeed are those who believes in their success even when at times, the situation seems to be utterly hopeless. However, when they shift their thoughts to a ‘sure win’ mentality, they took away all the worries in their mind and focus on only the positive thoughts. This kind of focused mentality also means that you will be able to cut out all the unnecessary distractions that you get online every day.

The results are naturally in the good side because they were able to make things happen with their focused efforts… and maybe… just maybe, their focused thoughts and positive believes attracted the success that is engraved deep inside their hearts. Therefore, if all else fails, you should always try putting aside the negativity and give it a final push with the best of attitude and belief where you have already succeeded, and you might just find the path to success.

The Law Of Reciprocity.

As you progress through your journey as an online entrepreneur, you will soon come to realize that this very Law plays a huge part in your business. Take joint venture deals for example. Rarely will larger marketers take notice of a smaller marketer who is just starting out, unless the smaller marketer reaches out to help the larger marketer first.

In fact, one of the best ways that is taught by countless marketers is to try and help out bigger marketers and get noticed first for free and unconditionally. Only when they feel ‘in debted’ to you will they give in and hear your needs. Such is the way the law of reciprocity works in the online joint venture world. Hence, the next time you wish to be able to get a good joint-venture partner for your project, think of how you can help them first before you try to get them to help you.

Another good way to look at the laws of reciprocity is by helping out your potential customers first. If you see some of the marketing models today where you give out ‘Free’ content and value first before you ask for money, you will realize that there is the Law of Reciprocity at play. This is because when you are able to help out the people for free, they will be inclined to learn more from you. People would never mind to pay for results, and thus they will repay you when you are able to reach out and help them first.

Some of the bestselling products online such as ‘Double Your Dating’, ‘Mass Control’, ‘Product launch formula’ are based on this law of reciprocity where they will provide you with the best method that will help their customers instantly and then people will naturally buy their stuff for more. These products made millions of dollars by giving away their best content first.

If you check out the ‘Double Your Dating’ affiliate program you can see that they are giving out 200% of affiliate commissions. What they are doing here is that they are rewarding affiliates a lot more than any other affiliate programs out there. In return, they get a lot more affiliates who will work for them twice as hard. Such is the nature of a product that gets over 10 million dollars of revenue each year.

The Law of gratitude.

It is said in the ever popular book “The Science of Getting Rich” that a lot of people who are doing the right things are deprived of the things they want because they lack gratitude. This is indeed a valid saying because without gratitude of what you already have you will never be able to appreciate the things that you already have.

Always be grateful for each visitor who comes to your site. Be thankful that you have a working internet connection so that you can work with freedom at the comfort of your home. Be happy that you have the time to spend with your family members, and you do not have to face constant pressure from your boss. It really does not matter if you are earning the bare minimum of survival or a million dollars a month because deep inside you, you know you do not need more than the bare minimum of survival to meet ends meet.

When you are thankful for what you have, you will take extra care in your work, and you will treat your customers with respect. People can tell when you care, and that’s when the magic happens. When you care, people will respond and buy from you over and over again. The repeat customers whom you build carefully and with gratitude will ensure that your product is working and doing the best it could for what it was created for. You will live a happier life, and you will be satisfied with the money that you’ve earned.

Embrace these laws of the universe and you will fill your marketing life with not only good profits, but a life you can be proud of.

Embracing some valuable personal habits and attitudes for successful online marketing

Online marketing is such a big realm in a sense given the number of marketers who resort to it for several reasons. Business tycoons turn to online marketing given the preference of most consumers to purchase online because it’s convenient while at the same time it allows marketers to display their product to a wider audience all over the globe without much hassle since the majority of the population have and uses the internet. Even if the intention of the web user is to actually search for a particular idea, most web sites often have associated advertising links or videos where several products are introduced one way or another.

Why online presence is significantly impacting one’s target market

When you have finally decided to start on a new endeavor in life and would like to begin your journey in the business world, it is not at all surprising that you would likely find yourself in many pitfalls. This is quite pronounced especially when no one is guiding you and that you don’t have a bit of an experience or good theoretical background about what you intend to embark into. This is also a similar scenario occurring among those who are venturing into online marketing.

Think differently in online marketingOften, many advertisers simply think that once they have uploaded the video or any ad of their product, they will have to wait for a few days and they are likely to find a boost in their sales. This could be true for some but not entirely the same picture all online marketers are experiencing. In fact, the bulk of those who post online ads often end up redefining their advertisements just so they can attract buyers and make them advocates of the products.

Online marketing is a very good and efficient tool but this could only be materialized once you have created an effective online presence for without such your ad will just be one of the many who will never get to be viewed in detail. Consumers find striking ads catchy compared to dull ones. This is a universal attitude of humans so better move around this circle if you would like to start impacting your target market.

Think differently and be one of the tycoons in online marketing

Because online marketing is a competitive arena, you should always think out of the box and create fresh, exciting ideas that is sure to ignite the needs of your target market. Mavericks in online marketing often find perfects spots in the top ranks of online marketing because they always think first of their client and tickle their imaginations. There appears to be no borderline for most effective online marketing people. They always see to it that they can move beyond the hurdles and always find perfect solutions to various issues of internet marketing. Such moves of success often begin with one’s perspective and way of thinking. The majority of these online marketing geeks often thinks that everything is limitless and so they always find a good reason why their idea will work. They also often believe that in everything, there is always a better alternative thus you do not need to settle for something you already know but you can always experiment to create another magnificent stuff. It is also a big no, no in online marketing to give up. You should, regardless of the situation be sanguine at all times. Positive outlooks always bear marvelous fruits in the end.

The mix and match of personal habits and online marketing

So is there a single, complete ingredient to successful online marketing? The answer is a yes and a no. No in a sense that there is no defined ingredient that will make one a successful online marketer but yes because everything actually lies within one’s self. You need not look farther since it will always begin with you. Your outlooks and personal habits often impact how you actually look at things and how you navigate your ship even in online marketing. The goals in online advertising are never met by someone who simply relies on others to do the things for them. A good attitude that is habitual and personally embraced will most likely develop in you a creative and fruitful online marketer.

Successful personal habits and attitudes to become an effective online marketer

So what personal habits should you possess to become efficacious in online marketing? Well for one, you should always be open to ideas and never stop learning something new every day. Make it a daily habit to always get to know something better. Never boosts of what you have already achieved but always be humbled to turn to people who you think knows best or who can help you make what you created, better.

Second, you can make online marketing not solely a literal selling endeavor. Instead, use it as a means to generate more friends. In this way, when the circle of those who know you becomes wider then it is likely that they will also help you advocate for the products you are actually advertising. So ensure that you make your audience feel that they are part of your world and not just mere instruments for the success of your business.

Third, always look at the brighter side and never give up. Failure is a common denominator in everything including online marketing. Success doesn’t come that easy or served to you on a platter whenever you order it. It is something that you would have to work hard for. You will have then to be prepared for several or even millions of failed attempts before you can finally say that you’ve made it. It is of great impact then that you look at your personal failures as an opportunity to grow and create new ideas rather than looking at it as a waste. Remind yourself always that no one started with anything including online marketing with all the right elements. So it’s always ok if you have failed before tasting success.

It does not take a fair amount of detective skills to notice the sudden spike in numbers of the amount of creative people operating online businesses – from customized cupcakes to photography and film services to consultant businesses for social marketing services. For many creative minds however, the business world, with its rules, boundaries and standardized communication does not evoke a sense of comfort. To a scatterbrained creative soul, the cut throat business world is just not a desired cup of tea.

However, if you are an artist of some sort- be it a digital-painter or a cupcake baker, selling your product/service via the online market does not have to be as scary as it seems. There are a few things to keep in mind for those who are weary of dragging wondrous works of art, no doubt embedded with their heart and soul, into the market place where at times it may feel like there is a total absence of heart and soul.

1) The internet is a huge space:

This can be quite intimidating. However, it does not necessarily have to be. You can look at it as an advantage rather than the big gaping black hole you are seeing. A larger space means more exposure for you and your product. With the right mind and method, you could achieve global recognition. There are many inspiring stories floating around the internet about people of various ages from various parts of the world and how their now successful businesses started on the internet.

Basically, the World Wide Web is your oyster- do with it as you see fit and take advantage of this huge space which can mean that whatever you put online has the potential to reach thousands or even millions of people. Instead of letting how large of a space intimate you, think of it as a creative platform, which it can easily be given the various connections made possible by people from all corners of the world.

2) There are too many strange people online:

This is again, very true. But there are many serious people who operate in complete professional methods. While I am sure if you look and account for it, the latter may appear to be less, but just like in any business forum you can choose who you can transact with.

After being on any website be it twitter.com, deviantart.com or wordpress.com, you learn to get a feeling about what’s legit and what’s not. Learn to hone those feelings by being active on these sites. Furthermore, you can always choose to secure yourself by controlling how much information you are putting out there. If you are not comfortable putting up your personal details online, then simply don’t.

Make an email address that is strictly meant for business communication and stick with that. Websites such as facebook.com and others which are used for internet marketing often have a privacy statement which is always worth reading. Take the time out to customize your privacy as most websites have such options. Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to figure out how to optimize it according to your standards and wants, but the end result is worth the journey.

3) Everybody is doing it, there is too much competition.

As the saying goes, there is nothing wrong with a little healthy competition. Part of the ideology behind the formation of the European Union (EU) was to rid Europe of the power dynamics of war, by bringing the nations together economically. As far as the online market goes, similar to the EU’s “healthy competition brings forth an open market”- everything is out in the open, more or less.

Starting a business and are confused about how to go about charging for your services?

You can always look around online, find other companies who are doing similar work and see what their packages are like. Because Facebook pages are open to all audiences, now you can even get a feel of how certain business go about their social marketing strategy. Because the beauty of online business involves being as active on the internet as possible, you will be aware of your competitor in various aspects. And once again, with the right mind and insight, you could offer an edge that your competitors are not offering, and use that as a marketing tool.

4) It takes time:

This is relevant to any kind of business. There’s a long, slow wait, which is sometimes unbearably slow as you count each and every like on your Facebook page, before it starts to feel and look like all of those shiny business you are exposed to from those inspiring success stories. As with any business, there are tools and methods to fasten the growth rate. With online business, these methods are ever-changing, which means social marketing offers the kind of versatility that you just cannot get offline.

While the big bad world of the World Wide Web may be intimidating initially, and to be brutally honest, quite frustrating as you’re working out the kinks, in this generation of internet savvy consumers, it is where a lot of economic activity takes place. Ideas are exchanged, worked upon, fine-tuned and then introduced into a saturated market that will probably keep on saturating itself. So it is better to start now than later.

A Poorly Designed Site Can Cost You Customers

No matter how professional your company is or how strong your services are, a poorly designed website could cost you more than you think.

Nowadays, your website may be the first thing that consumers see before making a purchasing decision.

People are turning to the Internet to find products and services now more than ever.

If you’re unsure if your website is up to the standards of consumers, there are several telltale signs…

  • Subpar Functionality: It’s important to ensure that all your links, videos, and graphics are running smoothly at all times. In some cases these issues may be unbeknownst to you, but make sure you’re proactive and get a problem repaired as soon as possible.
  • User Experience: Consumers want websites that are easy to use yet still provide eye-catching options. For example, a simple link that directs them to a product isn’t as pleasing a link highlighted in blue, with a beautiful picture and a product description beside it.

In addition, service information and products should always be easy to find. Obscure, hard-to-find information is a disappointment to consumers as they want to find things as quickly and as effortlessly as possible.

* Categories: Your website should be designed with categories for each product and/or service you offer. This not only helps your site look cleaner, but it also ties into the user experience, making it simpler to find information.

If your products and service information is scattered sporadically throughout your website with no order, then your site probably needs an overhaul.

  • Font Size, Text, and Search Boxes: Outdated text, hard-to-read fonts, and websites without a prominently placed search box all plays a part in a poorly designed website.

If your website isn’t designed in a user-friendly way, you run the risk of not only losing potential paying customers, but also current customers as well.

  • Consumers do research before they make purchasing decisions, whether in-store or online. If your website isn’t designed with the customer in mind, these consumers can easily move on to a similar business with a better website.
  • Word gets around easily online, especially via reviews. If someone has a difficult time on your website, there is a good chance that this information will be shared with others.
  • Most people don’t return to a difficult website, including, in some instances, current customers.

When you begin your e-business you probably will want to think differently than just being big. That means that you should narrow down your focus on a niche market, and build a solid loyal following with people that are raving about your niche products and services.

Getting involved in a niche means that you will develop specialized knowledge of your customers, the niche market, the competition and the trends so that you will be able to navigate market conditions easily. If you were selling everything to everybody, it would be difficult for you to interpret niche market conditions in a way that would tell you what to do in your business.
Niche marketing is finding a specific niche market where you can compete and that people are already buying products and services that you can sell very easily.

Many new e-business owners ask the question, “If there is already competition where will I fit in?” “How can I enter a market where there are already people selling?” “Won’t that mean that people would never come to my site and buy anything, if they already can get what they need on other sites?”

It actually works just the opposite when you think about niche marketing. Of course, you don’t want to take a niche that is overcrowded with businesses that are already providing solutions. But, when you began to develop a deep relationship with customers and prospects, as well as a deep knowledge of how to serve the people in your market you will not have to worry about competition.
E-business owners need only look to their local library to understand this concept (or a local bookstore will do). Take a look at any subject that you would want to research. Take cooking for example. How many different kinds of books are there on cooking? You could probably find a great number of them at either your bookstore or local library.
Then narrow down your focus. Choose a subject such as french cooking. How many different kinds of books are there one french gardening? You’ll probably find a great number of them.
If you were to open each one of these books on french cooking, you would find that the authors each have their own recipes. But, each different author probably has their own “cooking secrets” that they’re spelling out to their readers in their book. This is a niche market where there is always room for one more that teaches something new and innovative.

In addition to this, there is always room for another voice that can explain a concept in a way that is understandable for a certain group of people. In other words, the writing style or communication style of the author can make a difference in terms of their connection to the buyer.

Therefore, there is room for you with in your market niche. What you must do is find a subject, where there are people buying products and of which you have some knowledge and/or passion in that will help you to keep current, good information. There is always a question as to whether or not a new e-business owner should follow their passion or whether or not they should follow their skilled area. The initial question to ask is probably not about either knowledge or skills but whether or not the niche that you are considering already has people who were willing to make purchases.

One of the indications that a niche market has enough buyers in it is that there is a magazine directed to those who are interested in it. Another indication may be that there are websites that have been created in order to reach this particular market. But what are you looking for in the magazines or from the website? You are looking for existing advertising. If advertisers are involved in promoting themselves in the magazine or they are involved in promoting themselves on certain websites, you can bet that there is profit to be made in that market. In other words, you need to find a profitable market.

One of the easiest ways to figure out if there’s a profitable market for you as an e-business owner is to look at whether or not information products have been created. You can find this information on the website Clickbank.com. Clickbank.com is a well know marketplace for digital products. Although it does not cover the entire market, new, intermediate and experienced information product creators use Clickbank as their payment processor and marketplace. The reason that Clickbank is so widely known is because it makes things easy for product creators who want to find affiliates to promote their products.

Therefore, in this stage of your e-business journey, you should make use of the Clickbank marketplace as a source of research. What you will do is delve deeply into the statistics to find out whether or not there are products in the niches that you are considering. And you will also determine whether or not it is a market worth pursuing. Typically, if it is a market worth pursuing you will already find some products already selling.
If you seek product in the Clickbank marketplace that are achieving both popularity and sales, this is an indication that there is money to be made in the market and that you may be able to find a suitable place there. If there are no products selling, you may want to consider looking at another market, in order to start your e-business. The absence of any products is probably an indication that there isn’t much money to be made selling information to the people that visit websites in this market.
As you’re going through this process start keeping a list of markets and niches that have potential profit in them. Every so often, stop keeping your list and rank your choices based on the statistics that you are finding in Clickbank. For markets that have high popularity and high sales, consider those markets first. If you find those markets to be too competitive continue to move down your list until you find one that is worth your time.

It is at this point that you want to consider which market you have an interest in pursuing. Start with the list that you have created based on potential profit. Look at those in which you would be able to see yourself writing, researching, and informing others about what’s going on in it. If the subject matter does not interest you, you will not be able to create interesting content to attract people to your e-business. The best way to be interesting to people who would be your potential buyers, is to be interested.

What you determine a market that has money and one that you would be interested in? Try if possible to consider which market you would be best suited for. Which market do you have a good rapport with some of the people that you would find in it?

Which market do you have some knowledge of what is happening in it? Which market do you know the most about or have you had the most experience working it? Which market do you feel that you can’t adequately explain things to new people?

Going through this exercise will help you to determine a niche market that you will be able to be successful it. You will not ever find a suitable niche market that will be absent of any competition. Therefore, you want to enter one that has a moderate amount of competition, while at the same time you are able to compete in due to your interest and skill.
